The questions we get most
What is an APRN?
An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse — a registered nurse with graduate-level education and national certification, licensed by the Florida Board of Nursing to assess, diagnose and treat within an authorised scope of practice.
Can you prescribe medication?
Within the scope Florida law allows, and only after an appropriate history and examination. Controlled substances carry additional limits that we follow without exception.
Is this an emergency service?
No. In a medical emergency call 911. For mental health crisis support call or text 988. Messages here are not monitored outside appointment hours.
Can everything be done by video?
No. Telehealth is good for follow-ups and medication reviews, but some problems need examining in person and we will tell you when that is the case rather than guessing remotely.
Will you just renew my prescriptions?
We will review them, which is a different thing. Repeat prescriptions running for years without review cause real harm, so each visit asks whether a medication is still right.
How is my information protected?
As protected health information under HIPAA. It is shared only with your authorisation or where the law requires it.
